Home and Garden Information Center, part of the University of Maryland Extension, provides residents of Maryland with a wide range of information and education on horticulture.  The SVC consultants worked with HGIC to expand and improve its outreach strategy, including conducting a survey of users of its services, expanding its communications efforts and social media presence, and re-vamping its Web sites.

KAHEA: The Hawaiian-Environmental Alliance is a community-based organization working to improve the quality of life for Hawaii’s people and future generations through the revitalization and protection of Hawaii’s unique natural and cultural resources.  The SVC consultants assisted KAHEA in analyzing its current funding model and developing more sustainable funding strategies that match the organization’s unique strengths and cultural perspectives.

Paint Branch Elementary / UMD Partnership is in its second year harnessing the resources and expertise of the University of Maryland and the community of College Park to make Paint Branch the local school of choice.  The SVC consultants worked to conduct research on the various stakeholders of the partnership, laying the groundwork for the development of a strategic marketing plan in the spring.

Samasource, based in San Francisco, brings dignified, computer-based work to women, youth, and refugees living in poverty.  The SVC consultants assisted Samasource with updating its service provider training materials, which involved an extensive analysis of its business model and the unique challenges of its partners and clients around the world.

The Sun Safe Tee Program educates the golf community on sun protection strategies and the importance of early detection of skin cancer. The SVC consultants developed strategic fundraising strategies and recommendations that would allow the organization to scale its programs and services nationwide.

United Ministries is a Baltimore-based housing and social justice organization dedicated to assisting homeless men who want to change their lives, and to changing community attitudes about the homeless.  The SVC consultants built an outcome management database that will allow for easy tracking and reporting of outcomes, support internal program review and increase accountability.

Washington Area Community Investment Fund is a regional nonprofit focused on empowering underserved communities and individuals by providing them with access to capital and specialized technical expertise. The SVC consultants worked with the board to develop unified marketing messages that clearly articulate the breadth of WACIF’s services and will ultimately aid in their fundraising pursuits.

Wisconsin Early Childhood Association supports the adults who care for and educate young children in Wisconsin, through a variety of services including scholarship and compensation programs, professional development, membership and advocacy.  The SVC consultants developed a comprehensive survey of members and non-members alike, and utilized the results to build recommendations on growing and maintaining WECA’s membership base.
